Valais

Staying in Val d'Hérens

The Val d’Hérens opens out just south of Sion and winds its way up towards the glaciers, away from the major ski resorts. This is the Valais of burnt-wood villages and the famous pyramids of Euseigne — those earthen columns topped with a block of stone, through which the road passes via a tunnel. Further up, the Grande Dixence, the world’s highest gravity dam, closes off the valley.

Our accommodation in Euseigne, Hérémence and Vex offers an authentic and affordable base: you can ski in Thyon–Les Collons, the gateway to the 4 Vallées, and explore Sion, Arolla and the mountain pastures. Book directly, self-check-in, with no middlemen.

Winter

Thyon–Les Collons provides access to the 4 Vallées ski area (Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz): over 400 kilometres of slopes with a single ski pass. The villages in the valley remain quiet and family-friendly, just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts.

Summer

The pyramids of Euseigne, the Grande Dixence dam and its walking trails, the bisses and mountain pastures of Arolla, set against the backdrop of the Dents de Veisivi. A tranquil, rugged Valais, just half an hour from Sion.
